Finding Treasure on Grief's Path to Restoration
Grief Devotions

Stepping on the grieving path

A storm was brewing. Whirlwinds of confusion, floods of disappointment, raged against the foundations of my faith in God and His word.  The atmosphere changed, striking the core of every relationship, with each strong gust of wind.  This storm would be a test of where I put my trust and what I believe.

Would my faith stand, strong and secure, unshaken by the storm?
Directly after I felt the storm approaching, the winds of adversity hit.
I experienced the loss of my best friend and husband, Jack, without warning.  He died suddenly at fifty-three and my life would never be the same.

As I walked the grieving path after his death, I found some valuable treasures of revelation that helped me along the way.

Let everyone give all their praise and thanks to the Lord!  Here’s why—he’s better than anyone could ever imagine.  Yes, he’s always loving and kind, and his faithful love never ends.  So, go ahead—let everyone know it!  Tell the world how he broke through and delivered you from the power of darkness and has gathered us together from all over the world.  He has set us free to be his very own! (Psalm 107: 1-3TPT)

Psalm 107: 1-3 is my mandate from the Lord, to share the scriptures that encouraged me and the testimony of what the Lord has done in my life. I would like to invite you to come with me down the path of grieving in this thirty-day devotional.  While everyone’s story of loss is different, the path from grieving to healing and restoration can be directed by recognizing the challenges and opportunities along the way.

Each step down the path leads to a greater dependence and awareness of the Lord’s involvement in your life. Each devotion includes scriptures, a testimony of God’s involvement along the path of grieving, treasure found on the path, and application of this truth to your life.

Let’s begin this journey together!
