Restoring Hope

 
Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope!

A storm came in the night, lightning, rain, thunder crashing all around. I lay in my bed secure, knowing I am protected in my home by the physical reality of a roof and four walls. I also felt safe in the spiritual reality that my Heavenly Father is covering me and providing shelter in His arms. Storms of life are like storms in the night; they usually arrive without warning.
 
Most often, we are walking through our life, and out of the blue comes a storm that threatens to alter our reality. A death of a loved one, a loss of a job, a child leaves home, a broken relationship, a sickness or accident that results in a financial crisis, are unexpected storms which appear in any moment. Our life will be different after a loss occurs. Where to find hope in the storm is the challenge we face. Every loss is an opportunity to trust the God who knows our heart’s cry because He created it.

In Luke 4:18, Jesus read from Isaiah 61 in the synagogue of Nazareth. We can pray with confidence that Jesus knows our situation, and He has a plan to restore hope!

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”  
Then He closed the book and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. And He began to say to them, “Today, this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” Luke 4:18-21 (NKJV)
 
Are you struggling with a situation that might seem hopeless? Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted. He came to set free, those who are bound with fear and grief.  
 
Let’s apply the truth of God’s word in Romans 15:13.
Declare out loud:
I believe that Joy and Peace will come as I daily put my trust in the Lord.
I believe that the power of the Holy Spirit will continually surround my life with His super-abundance until I radiate with hope.
 
You can pray the following prayer with confidence that Jesus knows your situation, and He has a plan to restore hope! 

Father God, thank you for the comfort that can only come from you. Thank you for restoring my hope and healing my broken heart. Today, with your help, I take every thought captive and declare freedom from hopelessness. I put my trust in you and receive Your joy and Your Peace today.
